HAPPY FATHER'S DAY - 3 Things That I Admire About My Dad

They say that good fathers are difficult to find, but if you have a gem of a father, today is a really great chance to make him feel special, so go ahead... say it loud & proud:
"HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!"
I haven't seen my father for close to 6 months already and this entry expresses how much I miss him. we all know that all our Dads are unique individuals but there are actually 3 specific things that I really admire and love about him.

1. My dad is a very supportive family man.
Ever since the universe began, Dad always stresses to us how important and valuable family is in our lives. He's the type of guy who makes sure that he gets to spend time with each one of us. My father always sets a time to communicate wherever my siblings and I are in the world and just reminds us always on how he's always there for us. My dad is VERY clingy, but I appreciate how beneath all that clinginess and stickiness is his intention of keeping our family close & solid.

I would always remember how he talked about the story of the broomstick or 'tingting,' and how these sticks are weak and useless when they are not tied together whenever my siblings and I get into squabbles. Well, the past few years marked a huge change for our family since my siblings and I have settled away from home, but the foundations that dad has instilled in us show us how all the more solid and bonded we are despite distance. Well pa, the broomstick is still intact after all these years. :)

2. My dad is a very passionate and unconditional lover.
Mother Teresa once said, "intense love does not measure, it just gives," and true enough, this is what my father's unconditional love feels like.

If there's one thing about dad that taught me how I should treat my beloved family, friends and loved ones, it's that. Dad loves us so much even when sometimes we don't realize how much we're hurting him... (and I'm just not talking about his wallet lol. We are still very good kids though!)

He's the kind of guy who you could always count on, a some kind of comfort zone whom everyone can lean on, which is why whenever he gives us a sermon, even if we all hate it and try to shush him in a nice way... we all know that he's doing it because of love. Whenever he starts asking questions of our whereabouts, we know that it's because of the very same L word. He's a very  trusting person - always giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, and similarly puts his heart into everything that he does.

Daddy is a go getter and this has evidently rubbed off everyone else in the family. He not only inspires us to dream, but also to always chase every single one of them down.

3. My dad is a very God-fearing leader.
I admire my dad for his dedication and service to the church and most especially to our heavenly Father, because beyond whatever religious doctrine and traditions, his God-fearing nature has taught us gratefulness, loyalty and principle. Through him, I learned that being God-fearing is not an end on its own, but is also a manifestation of his obedience and humility in acknowledging his human capacity, but at the same time his generosity with his time, resources and presence to those who need him. My dad is a leader in the Christian community as well as a respected professional in the business, travel and finance industry, not because of the tangible things that he owns but because of his perspective, principles and work ethics whom people around him have grown to love.

Confucius once said, "The father who does not teach his son his duties is equally guilty with the son who neglects them." Well, I am just really grateful for mine. My father taught me how it is to get the most out of life, and he's a dad whom I can truly embrace and call my own.
Happy Father's Day Pa! Love & hope to see you soon!
